McCoy’s 5A medium was developed to support the propagation of many types of primary cells (bone marrow, skin, kidney, lung, rat embryos), established cell lines and primary explants. McCoy’s 5A contains the reducing agent glutathione, bacto-peptone and a high level of glucose. McCoy′s 5A Medium is used to produce viruses in primary cell cultures.
